The vast majority of reviews go very well with proper planning, feedback from the review attorneys, adherence to the "coding manual" and early and frequent QC by the supervising attorneys. I think it is called TEAMWORK!

I think it is about time. After several years of performing document review, I refuse to continue with this type of work. Even in this market, I am determined to find a REAL legal job. Oftentimes the people in charge of the review, do not know what is going on and I would venture to say, care only about getting the work out to the client. I liken asking questions to placing a big red target on your back. On occasion I have been aware of certain Attorneys who simply would not ask questions. I was lucky, in that I stayed with one client for several years and ultimately was a lead Attorney and thus, exposed to other aspects of e-discovery. However, this past Christmas the firm decided to fire all of the people who had been with them for several years and keep on Attorneys, who were with the firm for less than a month, only to invite us back at a lower rate....I refused...
