The Grossman-Cormack Glossary of Technology Assisted Review

2 November 2012 – There is a brilliant new guide out for technology assisted review … er .. ah … computer-assisted review … no, wait a minute … ah computer-aided review … ummmm … no, let me see … predictive coding … nah, we mean content based advanced analytics … OH, WHATEVER!

Those Cognoscente of TAR, Maura Grossman and Gordon Cormack (yes, they of the famous Richmond Journal of Law & Technology article on technology assisted review), have created a fabulous glossary because as they say in the introduction“the introduction of complex statistical concepts, and terms-of-art from the science of information retrieval, have resulted in widespread misunderstanding and sometimes perversion of their actual meanings. This glossary is written in an effort to bring order to chaos by introducing a common framework and set of definitions for use by the bar, the bench, and service providers”

It is a great source, it almost reads like a book, and is incredibly comprehensive.  For the glossary click here.
