One June 16, 2009 at 2:00 pm (ET) Planet Data is hosting a free webinar on recently enacted Federal Rule of Evidence 502 presented by law.com.  U.S. District Court Judge Michael Baylson discusses practical guidance on navigating the rule.

If you recall, Judge Baylson issued the opinion which made favorable reference to the use of contract attorneys by  corporations and law firms, Rhoads Indus. v. Bldg. Materials Corp. of Am., 254 F.R.D. 216 (E.D. Pa. 2008)  (click here for case).

The new Rule governs attorney client privilege and work product.  It is an effort to establish a presumption against subject matter waiver, resolve the issues surrounding inadvertent disclosure, provide for confidentiality orders, and support party agreements, among other issues.

CLE is available.  CLE is being offered for NY, CA and IL.  It’s good for 1 NY CLE, .5 CA CLE or .5 IL CLE credits.  The credit type is General Participatory.  You can register by clicking here.
